BITMAX

Bitmax

Bitmax is a cryptocurrency trading platform for buying, selling, and managing digital assets. The project began as a landing page with an initial brand identity and was later expanded into a complete product experience.

I conducted competitor analysis to identify industry patterns and opportunities, then designed and structured the full experience, including user flows, information architecture, and key interfaces across the platform. I also developed both light and dark theme variations and worked closely with developers to ensure design consistency and implementation accuracy.

Act 1 — The Landscape

Designing for a Familiar Product Category

Cryptocurrency exchanges have become increasingly common, with many platforms offering similar functionality and user flows. The challenge was not reinventing the trading experience, but creating a product that feels clear, trustworthy, and easy to navigate despite the complexity of financial information.

Act 2 — Exploring The Experience

Understanding Existing Patterns

Before moving into visual design, I reviewed existing cryptocurrency platforms to better understand common interaction patterns, information structures, and user expectations. This helped identify which conventions should remain familiar and where the experience could feel more refined.

Act 3 — Building The System

Designing For Clarity

The platform contains large amounts of data, market information, and account-related actions. The design direction focused on creating a structured interface where users could quickly scan information, monitor assets, and navigate between tasks without feeling overwhelmed.

Act 4 — Iterating

Creating Consistency Across The Product

The project followed an iterative workflow where each user flow and interface section was reviewed with the client before moving forward. Rather than designing the entire product at once, key experiences were validated step by step, allowing feedback to be incorporated throughout the process and helping the final product stay aligned with both business goals and user needs.

Act 5 — Refinement

Creating Consistency Across The Product

To create a consistent experience across the platform, the interface was built using Material UI components as a foundation. Instead of developing a design system from scratch, I adapted the existing component library to match the Bitmax brand and collaborated with the illustration team, leading the creation of a collection of custom illustrations and visual assets that added personality and strengthened the overall identity of the product.
